Taxpayer to claim their child as a dependent
Taxpayer can claim their child as a dependent _ Regardless of the child income_ as long as he meets the requirements below:
- He/ She is under age 19; or under 24 and a full-time student for at least 5 months of the year, or is totally & permanently disabled
- He/ She did not provide more than 1/2 her own support
- He/ She lived with you for more than half the year (or was away at school).
- If He/ She was between age (19-24) and NOT a full-time student who would not qualify as a dependent if He/ She earned more than $4,300 in the tax year 2021
